The World Aquaculture Society (WAS) and the Asian Pacific Chapter (APC) have agreed to organize the next APA conference (APA18) from the 23rd to the 26th of April in Taipei International Convention Centre (TICC), Taipei, Taiwan.

The Steering Committee chaired by Prof. Ching-Fong Chang (President of NTOU) and Dr. Guillaume Drillet (President of WAS-APC) has hold its first meeting during APA17 event. We are now 8 months ahead from the conference and therefore the activity of the steering committee is increasing every day to ensure a very successful event both for scientists and industry partners.

The program committee led by Prof. Ming-Wei Lu (NTOU) and A/Prof. Pham Quoc Hung (Nha Trang University) have a deadline for abstract submission on January 31st, and online abstract submission is encouraged at www.was.org. The theme of the conference has been chosen to be “Innovation for aquaculture sustainability and food safety”.

The three- day conferences program offers special sessions and workshops covering all aspects of Aquaculture in Taiwan and Southeast Asia on marine and freshwater fish culture, production system, seaweed and algae, food safety, and many more. Plenary topics will include trends and prospects of Taiwanese Aquaculture and biotechnology application in the aquaculture industry.

The three- day exhibition featuring international and Taiwanese companies will showcase the latest products, services, instruments and equipment for aquaculture management and all aquaculture related information to encourage sustainable aquaculture practices within the industry. We are looking forward to meeting you at the APA18 in Wonderful Taiwan.
